"Mankind has finally succumbed to sin. The fallen ones have gathered their forces and will once again invade the celestial mountains. They climb with their bloody, pus-filled hands on the hill of Limbo, that would eventually lead them to their final destinationthe holy gate
The storm clouds have been summoned. The gate of the heaven has been broken. The angels have taken flight. The land of light is now covered in darkness as nine of ten heavenly kingdoms crumble to the ground. Their shattered remains fall like asteroids onto the planets and seas of the galaxies as the black horsemen fly over head, signaling the coming Apocalypse
The last standing kingdom was instilled in silence Elijah started crying and Andromeda tried to comfort him. She hummed a lullaby to him when a sudden excruciating pain went through her heart. She clutched her chest, and looked, in horror, to the east where the gate lies. Theyre coming she whispered to herself. She quickly took hold of Elijah and leapt towards the open sky. The demons sensed her presence and were fast on her trail. She flew towards the edge of the universe where she knew lies a portal that quickly led to earth. She rushed towards an open plain of clouds and landed on where she thought was the portal. She tried unlocking several portals but none of it showed earth. The demons anguished cries became louder and louder, but Andromeda remained calm and kept on searching. She finally found it and quickly unlocked it. It opened into a small portal that couldnt fit both of them. She realized that this was the end for her. She looked at her child, trying to hold back the tears but failed. She whispered her goodbyes and dropped him into the portal. A shadow cast itself upon her. She knew it was them yet she was not afraid more amused then afraid. They asked her, through their foul breath, to scream for them and they would make it a little less painless. She kept her composure, knowing that one day the child she has sent to earth will lead the people out of the darkness and put an end to the Apocalypse forever After that final thought, she closed her eyes....and it went quiet. "
So in this picture, you can basically tell it's queen Andromeda and her baby in the final scene of the story. Details are lost here such as the tears on her face; i posted a closeup here [link]
It's beautiful. Just one question: Is she squated or standing up? When I first saw it I had thought she was crouched.... But after looking at it for a while, I thought she could be standing in the air... Because I can't see her legs, I keep myself wondering.

first of all, thank you very much secondly, she is supposed to be kneeling (twisting her body a little bit). i originally had her directly squatting but then it was such a hard angle to do since i had no ref. and it turned out really bad. her legs are behind her dress and in the clouds, thats why u can't see it. i might fix that though, maybe put in some sort of indication of it. but thanks for that observation.
Really interesting concept and the colors are beautiful. The blue of her dress compliments the baby's eyes perfectly. I also love how flowly her hair is!
Good Luck in the contest!!

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
There are a lot of themes that run through the stock gallery many people have similar ideas but they pull them off in different ways. In this series of newsletters we will look at similar ideas but different outcomes.
